This site clarifies Chinese national character based on the facts.
Generally speaking China is the country of "egocentrism". To put it simply, it is the nation where all are President Trump.

Roundup
  1. Money is the first. They do anything for money. They are good at business.
  2. They don't apologize any time, even if they think they are bad. Japanese apologize immediately, but Chinese never apologize. Chinese think that it is your defeat if you apologize.
  3. China is the country of "egocentrism". Even if another person is troubled by Chinese, it does not matter for Chinese basically. China criticizes things that aren't going just as it expects. Hua–Yi distinction does not change. The Chinese government is the dynasty of "pseudo-communism".
  4. The Chinese act without minding other persons. They tend to be disliked in the foreign countries, because they act in defiance of good manners. The Chinese vomit a sputum on the way, and speak like thunder sounds.
  5. When they wait for a train, they do not line up in the row. The battle for a seat is to the strong.
  6. Their politics is same, too. Both the international law and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese government. They think "The international politics is decided not by international law, but by power".
    • China insists on the possession of Paracel Islands, Spratly Islands and the sea area. Spratly Islands are too far from China and almost in other countries. And southern part of the sea area encroaches upon other countries.
    • There had not been Senkaku Islands in Chinese map of Governmental publishing company until 1971 since the People's Republic of China was formed in 1949. But such a reason does not matter for China.
    • In 2013 Chinese governmental newspaper "People's Daily" said "Okinawa" belongs to China too.
  7. Chinese people may get along well with President Trump, because they resemble him.

Abe’s bowing statue removed from Shenyang
 (China・Global Times) (November 25, 2016)

A wax figure of a bowing Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with a Hitler moustache was removed from a shopping mall in Northeast China after the mall received complaints from the Japan's consulate.

On Monday, the figure of Abe bowing apologetically was seen placed along with those of other world leaders including US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the mall in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, revealed photos posted on Sina Weibo.

A staff member at the shopping mall confirmed the removal of figures with the Global Times on Thursday. He also confirmed that the mall received complaints from the Consulate-General of Japan in Shenyang.

He told the Global Times as follows.

  1. The statues were made by a craftsman in Dandong, Liaoning, and the mall gave him space for free to "enrich the shopping experience of customers".
  2. The Abe statue could not be kept straight because the statues needed electric power to straighten up, however the circuit board for the Abe statue had some problems on the first day of display.
  3. The Hitler moustache was added to the figure intentionally to make sure it didn't entirely resemble Abe.
  4. As for the backdrop of the Abe statue, which recalls the "September 18 Incident," the staffer explained that there was no special reference or connection between the backdrop and the statues, as the figures were placed temporarily.

The photo has triggered controversy online, with some saying that the statue is inappropriate, while others insisting the status did not smear Abe, urging against politicization of the statues.

My Opinion
  • Japanese never do such a thing. In the first place they do not have such an idea. It did not become the big news in Japan, but if this had happened in Japan it would have become a big uproar in China. Japanese are foolishly honest and good-natured.
  • It's strange that the staff can say simple lies magnificently. He is really a Chinese. A wax figure cannot run on electricity.
  • The Global Times seems to want to say that the Consulate-General of Japa that made the complaint is bad. It is really the Chinese governmental newspaper.
  • Chinese never apologize and accept the cheat.
  • This isn't the first time that Shinzo Abe has been spotting kowtowing in China. In 2015, an Abe lookalike robot was seen at a robotic exhibition in Shanghai, bowing in apology to onlookers.

Chinese Rights Activist Who Lobbied for Lawyers Is Missing
 (U.S.・The New York Times) (November 24, 2016)

The wife of one of China's most prominent human rights campaigners said Thursday that he had disappeared during a trip to visit relatives of a detained rights lawyer.

Jiang Tianyong, a legal activist, has not been heard from since Monday, when he was due to board a train to return to Beijing, according to his wife, Jin Bianling.

Jiang's defense work involved some of China's most politically sensitive figures in recent years, including the dissident lawyer Gao Zhisheng and blind activist Chen Guangcheng.

Jiang was disbarred in 2009 but has continued his activism, recently helping to publicize the plight of nearly two dozen lawyers arrested as part of a sweeping 2015 government crackdown. Jiang met with relatives of one of the jailed lawyers in Changsha in central China shortly before going missing.

He could not be reached on Thursday by his mobile phone, which was turned off.

Jiang told the Associated Press in June that he feared he could be detained at any moment and rarely spent more than a few nights in one place.

Speaking by telephone from California, Jin said her husband's family sought to file a missing person report in his city of registered residence, Zhengzhou, in central China but police turned them away and told to seek information in Beijing instead.

The Ministry of Public Security in Beijing did not immediately respond to a fax requesting comment about Jiang's whereabouts.

My Opinion
  • The international law and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese government.

German car maker Daimler fires executive in China after telling a local 'All you Chinese are bastards' when he took his parking space
  (U.K.・Daily Mail) (November 22, 2016)

German car colossus Daimler has sacked a top executive of its trucks and buses unit in China after he said his host nation was full of 'bastards'.

Rainer Gartner, president and CEO of Daimler Trucks & Buses China, got into an argument with a local driver after seizing the parking spot he wanted and fumed: 'I have been in China one year already, the first thing I learned here is all you Chinese are bastards'.

The comments went viral on the Internet and made in the pages of the People's Daily, the Communist Party's official organ.

The paper went on to say that he attacked locals with pepper spray when they came to the defence of the driver he abused.

China has become one of Mercedes Benz owner Daimler's biggest markets and the company moved swiftly to get rid of Gartner.

'The manager in question had been immediately relieved of his position,' it said, adding that it apologised for what had happened.

'It was detrimental to the standing of our company, unbecoming of a manager of our brand and prejudicial to our good name', Daimler Greater China added.

Gartner's comments were not the first controversial remarks about Chinese people by a German in recent weeks.

EU Commissioner Gunther Oettinger, while addressing a German business audience, used the words 'slitty eyes' and 'chisellers' to refer to Chinese people.

My Opinion
  • Chinese are "egocentric". Maybe Rainer Gartner had a lot of experiences that made him mad in China. I understand his feeling that he wants to say "Chinese are bastards", but he must not say that.
  • He should have explained "Chinese national traits" to German people calmly after he came back to Germany.

China bans Korean drama, movies, and variety shows 'in retaliation against Thaad deployment'
(International Business Times) (November 21, 2016)

China will block South Korean movies, dramas and variety shows following an order passed by the authorities, Chinese media reported. The Chinese national media watchdog has told television stations in the Guangdong province that approvals will not be granted for programmes featuring South Korean stars. But dramas that have already been approved will continue to be aired.

They told us to postpone any plans for new programmes that involve South Korean stars or copyright for South Korean TV shows, a source told South China Morning Post. "They said we would not get approval, even if we made such plans," the source added.

According to the source, the ban order was passed verbally by the officials from the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. Recently, several K-pop stars were reportedly blurred or edited out on Chinese variety shows and a few Korean talents were also removed from Chinese television drama productions. Fan events and concerts which were scheduled to be held in China were also canceled.

Another source revealed that it was "almost impossible" to get approval for content from the Chinese regulators. "We haven't seen any written bans from the administration, but people in the industry are quite worried and many have said they would avoid taking on any work that involves South Korean dramas recently," she said.

Meanwhile, South Korean media interpreted the crackdown as a fallout of Seoul's decision to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system (THAAD), which is supplied by the United States.

The ban is viewed as retaliation against Korea's decision to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, Korea Times said.

The sophisticated system, built by Lockheed Martin Corp along with the associated AN/TPY-2 tracking radar built by Raytheon, can fire anti-ballistic missiles targeting objects inside or outside the Earth's atmosphere. The US and South Korea say Thaad will reinforce the country's security against in the event of an attack by North Korea.

But China is wary of the missile shield's highly advanced radar and surveillance capabilities. The Pentagon said earlier this month it will deploy the THAAD missile defense system in South Korea as quickly as possible, a move that will further deteriorate relations with China.

China had strongly opposed the deployment of THAAD as the high-tech system could affect its growing power in the Eastern Pacific. This ban on Korean entertainment would surely have a major impact on TV drama productions and hugely affect the financial interests of the Korean companies.

My Opinion
  • The politics of China is easy to understand. China retaliates.
    1. When the Chinese illegal fishing boat tried to escape and collided in two Japanese patrol ships and the captain was arrested by the patrol ship in 2010, China arrested four Japanese in mainland China.
    2. When the Japanese government bought Senkaku islands, the disputed islands in 2012, China fanned up the anti-Japan demonstrations in many Chinese cities. If the Chinese government does not approve them, you cannot demonstrate.
    3. China reduces Chinese tourists to Taiwan to retaliate, because Taiwan does not accept "One-China policy".
  • Can Korea deploy THAAD in spite of retaliation of China? They fear retaliation of China and may cancel the plan, because they are Korean.

French confectioners battle Chinese firm over Calissons d'Aix
 (U.K.・BBC) (November 16, 2016)

Angry French confectioners are preparing for battle over a sweet from Provence, after a Chinese company trademarked its name.

Calissons d'Aix are eye-shaped marzipan treats flavoured with melon, and firmly associated with France.

But Shanghai-based firm Ye Chunlin snapped up the rights under the noses of the Gallic manufacturers.

Now the French Union des Fabricants des Calissons (Union of Calisson makers) in Aix is fighting to block the decision.

Calissons have had protected status in France since 1991, so any brand making them there has to follow set methods.

But that only applies in France, meaning overseas sweet makers can pursue their own path.

French confectioners wanted global rights over the Calisson, and have spent well over a decade debating the "official" ingredients.

To stop foreign firms using the Calissons d'Aix name, they applied for an EU designation - the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).

But Ye Chunlin filed its claim with the Chinese intellectual property agency, Sipo, before it came through.

The French sweet makers now hope to block the move via a counter-claim with Sipo.

My Opinion
  1. China runs under the rules different from those of the world. The rules about human rights and the rights problem such as the plagiarism are loosely enforced in China.
    • In 2012 France's Hermes lost Trademark Battle in China.
    • In 2016 Apple Lost an iPhone Trademark Battle in China.
  2. The trademarks of many Japanese brand names and place names are registered in China. It is very awkward for Japanese companies.

Secret Back Door in Some U.S. Phones Sent Data to China, Analysts Say
(U.S.・The New York Times) (November 16, 2016)

For about $50, you can get a smartphone with a high-definition display, fast data service and, according to security contractors, a secret feature: a backdoor that sends all your text messages to China every 72 hours.

Security contractors recently discovered preinstalled software in some Android phones that monitors where users go, whom they talk to and what they write in text messages.

International customers and users of disposable or prepaid phones are the people most affected by the software. But the scope is unclear. The Chinese company that wrote the software, Shanghai Adups Technology Company, says its code runs on more than 700 million phones, cars and other smart devices. One American phone manufacturer, BLU Products, said that 120,000 of its phones had been affected and that it had updated the software to eliminate the feature.

The American authorities say it is not clear whether this represents secretive data mining for advertising purposes or a Chinese government effort to collect intelligence.

Kryptowire, the security firm that discovered the vulnerability, said the Adups software transmitted the full contents of text messages, contact lists, call logs, location information and other data to a Chinese server. The code comes preinstalled on phones and the surveillance is not disclosed to users, said Tom Karygiannis, a vice president of Kryptowire, which is based in Fairfax, Va.

Security experts frequently discover vulnerabilities in consumer electronics, but this case is exceptional. It was not a bug. Rather, Adups intentionally designed the software to help a Chinese phone manufacturer monitor user behavior, according to a document that Adups provided to explain the problem to BLU executives. That version of the software was not intended for American phones, the company said.

“This is a private company that made a mistake,” said Lily Lim, a lawyer in Palo Alto, Calif., who represents Adups.

The episode shows how companies throughout the technology supply chain can compromise privacy, with or without the knowledge of manufacturers or customers. It also offers a look at one way that Chinese companies ? and by extension the government ? can monitor cellphone behavior. For many years, the Chinese government has used a variety of methods to filter and track internet use and monitor online conversations. Ms. Lim said Adups was not affiliated with the Chinese government.

My Opinion
  1. Chinese never apologize and accept the cheat.
  2. Chinese stop at nothing to gain their ends. They says one thing and does another. They say they don't do the cyber spy but do that.

Cambodia criticizes - "the construction that Chinese company undertakes is "too low quality"
(China・the Global Times) (November 11, 2016)

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Sun Chanthol criticized and said, "The roads constructed by Chinese companies have too low quality".

He said, "There are roads where the cave-in of the road surface and asphalt separation are seen, though it is only a few months since they were completed. The trust for the company which undertook construction is lost".

He criticized, "The other road where the same Chinese company undertook construction does not reach the standard quality either".

A person concerned with the Chinese company insisted, "The criticized road is not completed yet. If a Japanese company undertakes construction, it will cost 2-3 times of the Chinese company. The construction cost of the Chinese company is low, but the Chinese company never cuts corners".

My Opinion
  1. The Chinese seems to insist that bad quality of the road is natural because a construction costs low.
  2. Chinese don't apologize any time. They shuffle off their responsibility onto others.

Indecency of Wang Nan and her husband and Dignity of Hirofumi Daimatsu-
The Chinese who kept turning on the water in a Japanese hotel and the Japanese who contributed to the Chinese volleyball world
(China・Zhong LüMing) (September 21, 2016)

Wang Nan's property tycoon husband Guo Bin told his followers that when he stays in Japanese hotels, he keeps the taps running in retaliation for a Japanese invasion from 85 years ago. The tweet created a big reaction in China.

The action of the couple is arrogant. This reminded me of Daimatsu. The women's volleyball team of China won a gold medal at Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, but there is little media taking up Daimatsu who had supported Chinese volleyball.

Daimatsu acted as supervisor of the women's volleyball team of Japan at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964, and he led his team to the number one in the world. In response to the request of the Prime Minister Chou Enlai, he was engaged in instruction of the women's volleyball in China since April, 1965 and did the training that any Chinese had not ever seen. Systematic training and the clear aim were brought China by instruction of Daimatsu.

Afterwards the Chinese team overthrew Japan with three to two in the World Cup finals of November, 1981 and won the first championship with the strength of complete victory of seven wins. There was not the development of the Chinese volleyball without existence of Daimatsu. If Daimatsu had been Chinese and he had trained Japanese team, he would have been cursed by "false patriots" and "pure patriots".

In the final of the Rio Olympic Games that the Chinese team fought against the Serbian team, the commentator of the Japanese TV was excited at Chinese gold medal acquisition and was full of much praise to China. On the other hand, there are a lot of Chinese who sent comments of "Like" to Wang Nan and her husband. It does not seem to be only two to be disgraceful.

My Opinion
  1. Before Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka visited China for normalization of Japan-China diplomatic relations in 1972, Chinese Prime Minister Chou Enlai welcomed a Japanese, Kaheita Okazaki and said "when you drink the water, think of those who dug the well". But the proverb does not seem to be popular in China.
  2. Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) to China began in 1979 and from that time to the present, approximately 3.3164 trillion yen in loan aid (yen loans), 157.2 billion yen in grant aid, and 181.7 billion yen in technical cooperation have been implemented. (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan)
  3. For example, the Chinese Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai under the technological assistance of Nippon Steel. Baosteel Group Corporation that was established by Japan's ODA or the free licensing outruns Nippon Steel Sumikin and now is the huge steelmaker of the second place in the world. However, most Chinese do not know the fact, and the Chinese government is not going to inform it, either.
  4. The Japanese Government is not going to inform the contribution to China such as the Japan's ODA, either. It is Japanese mind of modesty.

Japan should educate citizens of own country based on right historical view
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, MOFA) (November 10, 2016)

On November 10, 2016, Lu Kang, spokesperson of MOFA, requested Japan to handle the issue of so-called comfort women appropriately at the regular news conference.

He said, "Japan should get trust of the Asian neighboring countries and global community by looking directly at its history of the aggression and reflecting it, by taking consideration into a lesson of the history and by processing the problems appropriately in a responsible manner.

We hope that Japan educates its citizens, especially the young generation based on right historical view and Japan teaches its history to them fully and objectively and prevents the repeat performance of the tragedy."

My Opinion
  1. China is the country of "egocentrism".
  2. "Right historical view" China says is "Right historical view for Chinese side". The inconvenient events for China are not included in that.
    For example,
    • There is not "Tiananmen Square protests (wikipedia)" in the Chinese history.
    • It is not told that more than 2 million people died at "Three-anti and Five-anti Campaigns (wikipedia)" (1953) ,
30 million people died at "Great Leap Forward (wikipedia)" (1958-1961)
and more than 20 million people died at "Cultural Revolution (wikipedia)" (1966-1976). And that are not discussed in China.
  3. Chinese think "The international politics is decided not by international law, but by power". So it doesn't matter whether your answer is right or wrong. The controversy is to the person who insists strongly in China.

Football fans would rather watch the English Premier League than China’s sub-standard fare.
(U.K.・The Sun) (November 10, 2016)

Because land of the Dragon seems to be full of lazy, jealous Chinese footballers and vastly overpaid millionaire mercenaries.

CHINA has been heralded as the next global football superpower, a country that can win the World Cup in the next 22 years.

But the Land of the Dragon is currently experiencing serious problems ? with jealousy between its homegrown footballers and the vastly overpaid millionaire mercenaries who have flocked to the Chinese Super League.

I travelled to the People’s Republic and discovered:

  • Chinese players unhappy they earn up to FIFTEEN times less than foreign team-mates and are not treated equally
  • A feeling among coaches and foreign players that Chinese footballers do not have the work ethic to become top players
  • Sports bars jam-packed for Premier League matches

Hulk is believed to be earning £320,000 a week playing his trade in China, but has been described as “lazy” by many pundits there. Brazilian superstar Hulk cost SIPG £46.2million and picks up a staggering £320,000-a-week ? around 15 times more than his Chinese team-mates.

The gulf in quality between the permitted five foreign imports and six Chinese players in each team was embarrassing.

One foreign player, who asked to remain anonymous, told me: “The Chinese players are lazy and have a poor work ethic.”

“They want to be as famous and well paid as the big stars but don’t want to work.”

SIPG boss Eriksson and Brazil superstar Hulk, for example, have put Chinese noses out of joint by not staying with them at their team hotel.

The club requires all Chinese players and coaching staff to board at the Regal International East Asia Hotel in Shanghai ahead of home matches and away trips.

But I discovered on a visit to the hotel that £4m-a-year Eriksson, Hulk and their other three non-Asian imports were exempt from the rule.

My Opinion
  1. For Chinese, it is important only to gain money. Money is the first. They do anything for money. They are good at business.
  2. But China does not have the history of the ascetic Protestantism in West Europe (Max Weber said) and Bushido in Japan (Inazo Nitobe said), so "the spirit to work devotedly" and "mind of the self-sacrifice" does not take root in China.

Why is Chinese garbage classification system not established? We have been doing "test" for 16 years.
(China・northnews) (November 8, 2016)

In many Chinese cities, the reform of garbage classification has been already carried out experimentally. However, to our regret, it is hardly promoted now and becomes a dead letter.

One of the reasons is that many citizens do not understand the classification method.

That Beijingers who have run the test for 16 years do not know how to classify the method means that the spread and education of the most basic knowledge of the classification are paid no attention to.

The spread of knowledge about the garbage classification in many cities remains in a level where people merely set up trash boxies, raise the two-pole banner with the slogan which has no contents and distribute the handbill which nobody is going to read.

At first it is necessary for inhabitants to understand the meaning of how to do garbage classification well. The administration must get cooperation of the experts and go and visit the local areas, companies and schools properly, and carry out enlightenment continuously.

It is an unrealistic fantasy that you think people can have knowledge by only one lecture and handbill distribution. Even Japan could become the world top-level country of in garbage classification and recycle, by taking the time of ten years for carrying out the education to all nations..

My Opinion
  1. In old days Confucius preached Confucianism in China enthusiastically, but it was in vain to preach to egocentric Chinese people. Confucianism did not spread among China. → After all Confucianism was accepted in Japan and still remains.
  2. It is same as preaching Confucianism to perform garbage classification education to the egocentric Chinese. It is impossible. → Japan could establish the garbage classification system too, because Japan could accept Confucianism.

Hong Kong police, protesters clash over Beijing crackdown
(U.K.・Reuters) (November 6, 2016)

Police fired pepper spray in running battles with thousands of demonstrators on the streets of Hong Kong on Sunday as they tried to encircle China's representative office in protest against Beijing's attempts to stop independence activism.

Streets filled with mostly young people, many dressed in black, brought to mind weeks of pro-democracy marches in 2014.

This time they were protesting before a ruling due on Monday that is expected to bar two lawmakers from taking office in Hong Kong's legislature.

The two lawmakers, Yau Wai-ching and Baggio Leung, had pledged allegiance to the "Hong Kong nation" and displayed a "Hong Kong is not China" banner during a swearing-in ceremony for the city's legislative council in October. Their oaths were not accepted and their right to retake them is being challenged in the local courts by the autonomous Hong Kong government.

Chanting "Hong Kong Independence" among other slogans, the protesters, some with medical masks and cling film to shield their eyes, tried repeatedly to charge through police lines but were forced back. Several were arrested.

Calls for independence are considered taboo by Beijing's Communist Party leaders who see Hong Kong as an "inalienable" part of China after more than a century of British rule.

The standing committee of China's parliament, the National People's Congress, this weekend discussed invoking a rarely used power to interpret Hong Kong's mini "Basic Law" constitution to stop Yau, 25, and Leung, 30, from taking office.

China Central Television quoted national lawmakers as saying the pair were a threat to China's "sovereignty and security".

Under a "one country, two systems" formula by which Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997, Beijing promised to grant the city a high degree of autonomy, including judicial freedom.

Martin Lee, a veteran democrat and barrister, said Beijing's move to interpret the Basic Law would bind the hands of the Hong Kong court that will hear the government's challenge against the pair.

(It) makes it impossible for the court to exercise its own judgment, he said.

The Hong Kong Bar Association has said an intervention by Beijing now would deal a "severe blow" to the city's judicial independence and undermine international confidence in Hong Kong's autonomy. Chinese officials are expected to call a news conference on Monday morning regarding the situation.

My Opinion
  1. On November 7 the standing committee of National People's Congress said that their right to retake the oaths by two was not accepted and gave decision to deprive them of the qualification of the member of the legislature. "One country, two systems" does not exist. Both the international law and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese government.
  2. The person against the Chinese Communist Party is not accepted in China. The pair may be erased like when Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.

India may give second high-speed rail contract to Japan
(China・SINA) (November 1, 2016)

According to "The Economic Times" in India, India is exploring a proposal to award its second highspeed rail contract to Japan and the two sides would work on it during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to the country starting November 11.

This could be Japan's second such project in India, just like the first high-speed rail link, which is based on the Shinkansen bullet train train technology and is proposed to connect Mumbai with Ahmedabad, indicated people familiar with the developments. The network is expected to be ready by 2023-24. The government has said that tariffs on this route will be less than the airfare.

China is also in the reckoning for developing highspeed rail networks in India. But mutterings about China increase recently in India, and the voices to call for "the boycott of Chinese goods" increase.

The comments sent by Indian net users say as follows.

"Good . Never give contracts to the Chinese."

"Don't give anything to China! China don't invest in India and always threaten India on any issue. Japan has invested huge amount in India and they deserve much of the projects! Let China die of jealousy and suffer for supporting terrorism with Pakistan!"

My Opinion
    Other comments
  1. "Chinese companies are dodgy and are known for shamelessly cheating the customer in detailed specs."
  2. "China should understand the public anger in India against its activities if it ever wants to court the country."

Chinese tourists assault pub employee in Jeju
(Korea・JoongAng Ilbo) (November 4, 2016)

Jeju police arrested three Chinese tourists on charges of assaulting a pub employee on Thursday. The three Chinese tourists visited a local pub in Yeon-dong on Tuesday and refused to leave at around 4 a.m., the pub’s regular closing hour.

The pub owner, surnamed Song, said the Chinese tourists were drunk from around 1:30 a.m. and seemed they weren’t likely to leave.

Song reportedly said, “One of our employees asked them to leave four times, from 3:50 a.m., or 10 minutes before the closing hour, but they didn’t comply.”

The three kept asking for more drinks past 4 a.m. When the employee said, “You can’t order more drinks,” one of the Chinese tourists allegedly started swearing at the employee, saying, “Are you looking down on me because I’m Chinese?”

Another employee came by to explain the situation and was threatened by the three. While quarrelling over the closing hour, one Chinese tourist reportedly stood up and started hitting the employee. At this point, all of them forced the employee into a corner and attacked. The tourists continued yelling even after police arrived at the scene.

Police arrested the three tourists, while one of them, who insisted he suffered an injury, was taken to a nearby hospital before investigation. Police will further question the three.

My Opinion
  1. Chinese are really "egocentric".
  2. laws, the human rights and manners have nothing to do with Chinese.

Jeju airport battles garbage dumped by Chinese
(Korea・THE KOREATIMES) (November 3, 2016)

Jeju airport is grappling with overflowing garbage from Chinese tourists.

Gates for international flights on the third floor of Jeju International Airport are teeming with rubbish from duty free goods purchased by Chinese tourists, according to Jeju newspaper Jemin Ilbo.

When tourists purchase duty free goods outside the airport, they have to pick them up from a designated area at the departure gate. The problem arises when the tourists rip the wrapping from the items at the gate before boarding, to reduce their size and weight. Then they leave the rubbish on the floor.

Staff from duty free shops and cleaners have asked Chinese tourists to use dumpsters, and even gave them garbage bags. The Korea Airports Corporation in Jeju has also taken action by increasing the number of cleaners at the gate from two to three.

We will keep reinforcing the sanitation team at the gates for international flights, an official from the airport told The Korea Times.

He said the airport has special areas around the gate where tourists can dump the rubbish and airport staffs have been reminding them of the regulations.

Even though there is still lots of rubbish left after they depart, less of them are dumping it on the floor after we've taken action, the official said.

Those who keep throwing waste on the floor might face fines as a penalty in the future.

My Opinion
  1. Chinese are really "egocentric".
  2. laws, the human rights and manners have nothing to do with Chinese.

Two Chinese men arrested for urinating in public, resisting police in Sydney
(China・ShanghaiDaily) (November 2, 2016)

Australia's New South Wales police confirmed two Chinese men were arrested lately for indecent act in the public in Sydney.

Police observed two males committing an act of indecency in Sydney's Botanical Gardens about 3:30pm on Saturday, the NSW police said in a media release.

Police said they approached the two men, who attempted to walk way. The duo, respectively aged 41 and 66, were then arrested.

During the arrested, the older man resisted, but was subdued by police. The younger one was issued with a criminal infringement notice for offensive behavior. The older one was charged with offensive behavior and resisting arrest. He will appear before a local court next month.

In the earlier post exposed online with photos, the duo were said to be urinating in the public when they were stopped by police.

My Opinion
  1. Chinese don't apologize any time. They might not have been arrested if they apologized without resisting the police.
  2. Both laws and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese. Chinese think that everything is decided "by power". But the duo were subdued "by power".
  3. The best way for China to solve this problem is to send only 2% of its population, that is 27 million population, to Australia that has 24 million population. Then Australia will become the second China and this problem will be solved.

Coast Guards Fire Live Rounds in Battle with Chinese Trawlers
(Korea・ChosunIlbo) (November 02, 2016)

Coast guards fired live rounds at Chinese trawlers fishing illegally in Korean-controlled waters for the first time on Tuesday, a month after the government authorized their use.

Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, three coast guard patrol boats fired M60 machine gun rounds at about 30 Chinese fishing boats that were bearing threateningly down on them while they towed away two trawlers that had been fishing about 90 km southwest of Socheong Island in Incheon.

Three hours earlier the patrol boats had spotted some 50 Chinese trawlers fishing illegally about 5.5 km inside Korean waters.

Within an hour they dispatched six speedboats and captured two Chinese trawlers and started escorting them away when some 30 other Chinese trawlers began to gave chase, apparently with the aim of freeing the two trawlers.

At 5:45 p.m., two more patrol boats arrived to help but the Chinese trawlers started ramming into patrol boats.

The face-off continued for an hour until coast guards broadcast a warning to the trawlers and fired M60 machine gun rounds into the air. But the trawlers did not back down.

After another warning they finally fired some 600 M60 rounds at the sterns of the trawlers in the course of the next hour before they were reinforced by two Navy vessels and four other coast guard boats that arrived from nearby waters.

Two patrol aircraft were also scrambled and fired a total of 18 flare bombs before the trawlers finally turned back and fled toward Chinese waters.

No Chinese trawlers sank. No casualties have been confirmed, a division spokesman said.

The skirmish came about a month after a Chinese trawler rammed and sank a coast guard speedboat on Oct. 7, which prompted Seoul to authorize the use of live firearms.

South Korean Coast Guard fires at Chinese boats
(China・CCTV) (November 02, 2016)

China's Foreign Ministry expressed strong dissatisfaction with South Korea's use of force at Chinese fishing boats.

My Opinion
  1. At first China should apologize before expressing dissatisfaction. But Chinese don't apologize any time.
  2. Both the international law and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese.
  3. The Chinese fishing boats are good at hitting other countries' vessels. Because Chinese think that everything is decided "by power". It is the same reason why they do not line up in the row, when they wait for a train.
    • In 2010, a Chinese fishing ship intentionally hit the ship of the Japanese Coast Guard near Senkaku Islands. China insisted that Japanese ship had hit the Chinese ship.
    • In 2014, a Chinese ship intentionally hit the Vietnamese vessel near Paracel Islands in South China Sea. Of course China insisted that Vietnamese ship had hit the Chinese ship.
    • In March 2016, on several occasions, a Chinese vessel which was fishing illegally in Argentine waters performed manoeuvres designed to force a collision with the Argentina's coast guard. Argentina's coast guard sunk the Chinese vessel.
    • In March 2016, a Chinese boat illegally fishing in South Korean waters sank a Korean Coast Guard vessel in a collision.

Video of world's 'saddest polar bear' in China sparks outrage
(Phys.org) (October 28, 2016)

A global campaign to free the world's "saddest polar bear" from a Chinese shopping centre has gathered one million signatures, rights groups said, as a new video of the wretched-looking creature sparked fresh outrage.

The bear named Pizza is one of 500 species kept in a zoo inside the mall in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou and activists have been lobbying for the animals to be rehomed and the exhibition closed.

Letters signed by 50 Chinese animal rights groups were sent to the governor of Guangdong province and the shopping centre this week calling for the zoo's closure on the grounds it is illegal.

Animals, including an arctic fox, wolf and walrus, are kept in "small rooms with no window and environmental enrichment", said a copy of the letter sent to Governor Zhu Xiaodan and seen by AFP.

Two petitions that had gathered a total of one million signatures from around the world were also sent to Zhu.

The general manager of the atraction, a man surnamed Fan said previously that the zoo was "legally compliant" but pledged to "strengthen the protection of animal rights and welfare".

But a video released by Humane Society International this week shows Pizza pacing around his glass-fronted enclosure measuring 40 square metres (430 square feet) and shaking his head as onlookers take photos on their cell phones.

At one point the forlorn-looking bear lies on the floor in front of an air vent, which HSI director of international media Wendy Higgins told AFP suggested he was trying to get a "rush of fresh air".

Pizza's behaviour?head swaying and repetitive pacing?had been induced by "frustration and poor welfare", Professor Alastair Macmillan, a veterinary adviser to HSI, said after viewing the footage.

An earlier offer from the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in England to adopt Pizza on the condition that he was not replaced by another polar bear was not taken up by the shopping mall, which said it had "no need" for foreign interference.

My Opinion
  1. Chinese don't apologize any time.
  2. Both the international law and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese.

When I see the cultural level of the Chinese people at a height of 10,000 meters, I become sad-A Chinese cabin attendant of Emirates airline in UAE
(China・Sohu) (October 22, 2016)

When one of the few Japanese cabin attendants joins the crews, they talk about Japan.

"Japanese are very polite, public order is kept on the Japanese flight lines and there is no person who calls a crew and makes a claim." "Towns are beautiful and people are kind in Japan. Japan is developed country." They praise Japan just like "the kingdom of God".

The Japanese crew who hears such a story laughs lightly and says "Thank you".

I hear that calmly in a corner and always have big jealousy at the bottom of my heart.

A foreigner crew can have a few opportunity to board the Japanese line, because the boarding of the Japanese cabin attendants is required. The crews who have boarded the Japanese line are fascinated with Japan and want the boarding to the Japanese line afterward. So the opportunity to board that becomes fewer and fewer.

On the other hand, the opportunities of the boarding the Chinese line increase, because only one foreigner crew boards it. The Chinese line tends to be avoided by not a few foreigner crews. The reason why some crews avoid a Chinese line is because they often feel unpleasant there.

My opinion
  1. China is the country of "egocentrism". Even if another person is troubled by Chinese, it does not matter for Chinese basically.
  2. The Chinese act without minding other persons. They tend to be disliked in the foreign countries, because they act in defiance of good manners. The Chinese vomit a sputum on the way, and speak like thunder sounds.
  3. Their politics is same, too. Both the international law and the human rights have nothing to do with Chinese government. They think "The international politics is decided not by international law, but by power".

Maximum is 600 kilos per an hour! China researches and develops the linear motor car
(China・央广网) (October 22, 2016)

China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) is a Chinese state owned rolling stock manufacturer and the largest rolling stock manufacturer in the world. It announced that it would start research and development of the linear motor car that reached a maximum of 600 kilos per an hour as "the national important research and development".

Although a linear motor car exists in Changsha, it has only 100 kilos per an hour. It is moderate and low-speed.

The technique of the high speed railway has been already improved, and there is little potential to be improved more.

Japan has already established a linear motor cars technology of more than 500 kilos per an hour, and China fixes its eyes on the times of "the next" of the high speed railway and is planning to accumulate the technique.

CRRC is planning to complete the examination vehicle of the linear motor car that can run at a maximum of 600 kilos per an hour in June, 2020, and to realize the industry that includes a mass production in 2021.

My opinion
  1. In Japan, 603km/hour that was recorded in the driving test of the Yamanashi linear experiment line on June 26, 2015 is authorized by Guinness world record.
  2. The service of the linear motor car including Shanghai Transrapid that links Shanghai Pudong International Airport to the Shanghai suburbs has been already accomplished in China. But Shanghai Transrapid introduced the German technique.
  3. Like the Shinkansen case, it is expected China will steal the Japanese technique, advertise that it is China's original technique, and export it abroad.
  4. China will be going to get the Japanese technique using every means. Japan must be cautious of Chinese industrial spies and the unjust invasions to Japanese computers.

Germany seeks tighter control over Chinese investment in European companies
(U.K.・Bloomberg News) (October 24, 2016)

Germany is seeking tighter control over foreign investment in European companies, in a sign of a growing protectionist reaction to China’s appetite for overseas acquisitions.

Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel on Monday reopened a review of the takeover of Aixtron SE, which supplies equipment to the semiconductor industry, by China’s Grand Chip Investment GmbH. That follows calls by Gabriel, who is also Chancellor Angela Merkel’s deputy, for European Union measures to give national governments more powers to block or impose conditions on shareholdings of non-EU companies.

While Merkel hasn’t publicly backed her vice chancellor’s push, Gabriel’s proposal reflects growing backlash within her government to unfettered Chinese investment in Europe’s biggest economy following the purchase of German robot maker Kuka AG by China’s Midea Group Co. Gabriel has found an ally in EU Digital Economy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger, a Merkel appointee who’s a member of her party.

“It’s absolutely right to initiate this debate at the European level,” Oettinger said in an interview last week. “Everybody has to play by the same rules. Clearly, there are many countries, including big ones such as China, that make market access or corporate takeovers difficult or effectively impossible.”

In the latest potential Chinese bid, lighting maker Sanan Optoelectronics Co. Ltd. said it had held talks with Osram Licht AG on a possible acquisition of the almost century-old German company.

My opinion
  1. China makes corporate takeovers by the foreigners impossible in their country, and goes on with their overseas acquisitions energetically.
  2. China makes the land purchase by the foreigners impossible in their country and goes on with the Chinese overseas land purchase energetically.
Chinese are not fair. They are dirty. But such a reason does not matter for China.

China denies allegations its peacekeepers abandoned South Sudan posts
(U.K.・Reuters) (October 11, 2016)

China's defence ministry has rejected as "malicious speculation" allegations by a U.S.-based group that Chinese peacekeepers had abandoned their posts in South Sudan in July instead of protecting civilians.

Chinese troops are part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, which has been ravaged by conflict between rival forces loyal to the President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar.

The Center For Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC) said in a report published last week that Chinese peacekeepers with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) had withdrawn from a civilian protection zone in July after coming under attack.

The CIVIC report said the Chinese peacekeepers abandoned their posts in the South Sudanese capital of Juba on July 11, a day after a rocket-propelled grenade had exploded near a Chinese armoured personnel carrier, killing two Chinese soldiers.

Yang Yujun, a spokesman for China's Ministry of Defence, said in comments published on the ministry's official website (www.mod.gov.cn) that the report was "malicious speculation".

Currently, the United Nations is investigating the performance of the United Nations peacekeeping force in southern Sudan, and making unwarranted accusations against UN peacekeepers and personnel before the findings have been published is irresponsible, he said.

My opinion
  1. Chinese do not admit bad things that they did. I have never seen Chinese admit and apologize for them.
  2. Chinese do not apologize basically under any circumstance. They don't apologize any time, even if they think they are bad.

Why is the Chinese science inferior to Japan?
(China・Caixin) (October 10, 2016)

Background where Japan realized Science-education-oriented nation, and was successful in producing Nobel Prize winners in sequence

  • Scientists participate in planning positively in making the serious policymaking of the country.
  • Long-term and stable supports for the basic science
  • Attitude to call foreign researchers positively and to plan the interchange
  • Japanese character that is earnest and patient
  • Japanese technology world has culture to value trust and reliance.
Japan is the society where "sense of honor" is respected. And if you cheat once, your life as the scientist can be wiped out.
  • Because Chinese society generally lacks trust and reliance, a lot of camouflages, plagiarisms, exaggerations and plundering of the theme occur consistently.
  • Chinese scientific community has serious atmosphere to hurry to request the utility restlessly. And scientists have the trend to do anything including various injustice to become a hero.
  • Chinese scientific community has a strong desire to raise the fame and to make an outstanding job.
My opinion
  1. I understand the difference between Chinese and Japanese well.
  2. Money is the first for Chinese. They do anything for money.

Australia government cyber attack came from Chinese intelligence service
(U.K.・Reuters) (October 11, 2016)

A malware attack against Australia's Bureau of Meteorology which might have spread into other government networks originated from a foreign intelligence service, an official report by the country's cyber defense agency said on Wednesday.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) first public report did not say which foreign power authorized the December 2015 attack.

When the national government revealed the attack took place last year, it did not specify the suspected source. Local media said at the time that internal security sources blamed China, charges the Chinese foreign ministry dismissed.

In the report, the ACSC noted that "security controls in place were insufficient to protect the network from more common threats associated with cybercrime".

The report did not name a motive for the attack. The prime minister's cyber security adviser, Alastair MacGibbon said he was unaware of a motive but added that "there's been a suggestion that it was moving laterally among other networks".

China is Australia's top trading partner, with two-way trade of about A$150 billion ($114 billion) in 2013. The countries began a free trade agreement in December last year, the same month of the Bureau of Meteorology attack.

In June, U.S. officials blamed Chinese hackers for compromising the records of up to four million current and former government employees.

China called the U.S. comments irresponsible, while President Barack Obama vowed that the United States would aggressively bolster its cyber defenses.

My opinion
  1. China does the cyber attacks to every country. However, China never confesses it absolutely. China denies the cyber attacks and continues the cyber crimes.
  2. Only cyber attack to China is effective in order to confront China.

The writing on the Great Wall is grief
(China・CHINADAILY) (September 26, 2016)

I read it as an April Fools' Day joke in September, but it turned out to be true. A stretch of the Great Wall in Liaoning province, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), has indeed been turned into a smooth, white trail of cement in the name of restoration. To say the irreversible damage caused to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the pride of the nation, is outrageous would be an understatement.

The Great Wall with a cemented trail is like the Taj Mahal adorned with glitzy modern tiles or the statue of Venus de Milo with restored arms.

Architecture and aesthetics aside, the damage to the Great Wall is also a crime against history. What makes it more deplorable is that, instead of feeling remorse, officials of Suizhong county's cultural relics bureau, who were in charge of the project, insisted they had done nothing wrong, claiming the repair work that started in 2013 and ended in 2014 followed the regulations and laws on the protection of the Great Wall. One official even said netizens who have raised a storm over the "destructive nature of the repair work" do not fully understand how the national treasure is protected.

My opinion
  • Money is the first. They do anything for money. Many Chinese do not understand the value of the historical structures.
  • They don't apologize any time, even if they think they are bad. Chinese think that it is your defeat if you apologize.

Experts: Chinese spying, not looking for MH370
(Malaysia・Free Malaysia Today) (September 23, 2016)

Security experts consulted by The Australian believe that Dong Hai Jui 101 (DHJ101), a Chinese vessel, is engaged in spying activities. It's supposed to help look for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 in the 7th Arc in the southern Indian Ocean, off southwestern Australia.

The Australian was following up on an analysis of the weekly operational bulletins published by the Joint Agency Co-ordinating Centre (JACC) on the search efforts.

The analysis showed the DHJ 101 has so far spent 30 days at the most, perhaps even as little as 17 days, on the search efforts. The vessel has either spent most of its time in Fremantle when not on “weather standby” in the 7th Arc or in fact being “north of the search area”.

The JACC refused to disclose how many days the Chinese have spent in looking for MH370.

The DHJ 101, equipped with a sonar imaging “towfish”, came to Freemantle seven months ago.

The DHJ 101 apparently “abandoned” the search effort in early August. The JACC reported then that “the Chinese vessel would remain at anchor off Freemantle until weather conditions improve”.

The consensus is that the Chinese may have been testing submarine tracking technology and updating itself on advanced western underwater search techniques and equipment. The Australian cited the interactions between the Chinese and Australian and international experts engaged in the search effort.

The Chinese, it’s believed, have also been monitoring Australian and allied military activities.

Former Director of Security Intelligence, Clive Williams, said he “would be surprised if the DHJ 101 did not have an intelligence collection role”.

Williams, now attached to the Australian National University, said that Western Australia was a target-rich environment in terms of various Australian defence activities.

He said China has an active collection effort in Australia and a “hospital” ship, the Peace Ark, in the Indian Ocean for “research” activities.

The Australian submarine base is in Perth, at HMAS Stirling. The Special Air Service Regiment is in a Perth suburb. Other facilities include the Australian Defence Satellite Communications electronic spying station at Kojarena, near Geraldton; and the North West Cape naval communications station near Exmouth.

The real value of the DHJ 101, said Peter Jennings of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, was “learning first world techniques, tactics, and procedures on search and rescue”.

“The DHJ 101 isn’t purpose-built to be an intelligence-gathering ship,” he said. “However, the ship can note activities in and out of Freemantle and at HMAS Stirling.”

Greg Barton, from Deakin University, said the DHJ 101 “would probably be spying as a matter of course”.

The search for MH370, he said, was an opportunity for the Chinese to gather signals intelligence capacity including hydrophone instrumentation and tracking submarine movements.

Former Olympic champion in hot water after her property tycoon husband posted anti-Japanese message on Chinese social media
(U.K.・The Daily Mail) (September 20, 2016)

A former Olympic table tennis champion and her property tycoon husband have caused controversy after the husband posted an anti-Japanese message online.

Wang Nan's property tycoon husband Guo Bin told his followers that when he stays in Japanese hotels, he keeps the taps running in retaliation for a Japanese invasion from 85 years ago.

Many people have voiced their opinion on the post on Chinese social media with some claiming his actions to be 'nasty'.

Wang Nan, 37, is a former table tennis world champion.

She and Guo Bin, 46, married in 2008 in a lavish wedding ceremony. They have since had two children.

Guo uploaded the post to his Weibo account in the afternoon of September 18, according to Huanqiu, an affiliation to People's Daily Online.

In the post, Guo wrote: 'It's difficult to relive after the humiliating encounter, the historical 918 incident.

'Our entire nation was badly humiliated by a silly country a lot smaller than ours. I visited Japan before but I never used any Japanese products including electronic goods.

'I even selfishly kept the water tap running while I stay at a Japanese hotel. I felt like I have vented my anger.

The man has more than 200,000 followers on his Weibo account.

Wang Nan, who has more than 340,000 followers on Weibo, liked her husband's post.

My opinion
  • The level of the Chinese patriotism is too low. This is not true patriotism. I thought that there was few Chinese in favor of his patriotism, but it is a problem that ayes or noes are half-and-half.
  • It expresses the cultural level of Chinese people. I can understand that Chinese peed in a world heritage.
  • His action is the same idea as a Korean set fire to Japanese Yasukuni shrine.

China gives Taiwanese opposition party "preferential measures". Does it aim at confrontation in Taiwan?
(Japan・Sankei Shimbun) (September 19, 2016)

On September 18, Yu Zhengsheng who is a Chinese politician, one of the top leaders of the Communist Party of China and the Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) talked together with the eight-member delegation, including country chiefs from several cities. The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) is Taiwanese opposition party, and the delegation has a policy of Chinese Nationalist Party and visited Beijing.

Beijing vowed to promote agricultural trade, technology and tourism with those counties who had sent delegation. It has the aim to set up a confrontation in Taiwan and exert pressure to the Democratic Progressive Party administration that China gives the local governments affiliated with KMT warm reception.

Yu warned "The serious change is taking place in the situation of Taiwan Strait", because Tsai Ing-wen administration and DPP have refused to acknowledge the "One China" concept, refusing to recognize the 1992 Consensus, which affirms that both sides of the strait belong to China. On the other hand, he praised eight prefectures and cities saying that they stuck to the 1992 Consensus and visited China.

Zhang Zhijun who has served as the Minister of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council reportedly stated, "Other prefectures and cities should think why they can not come (to China)."

My opinion
The politics of China is easy to understand.
  1. China is going to move other state politics with money.
    • It gives money to neighbor countries and is going to make the South China Sea the Chinese domain.
    • China gives money to the African countries and lets them agree to China's South China Sea rule.
  2. China retaliates.
    • When the Chinese illegal fishing boat tried to escape and collided in two Japanese patrol ships and the captain was arrested by the patrol ship in 2010, China arrested four Japanese in mainland China.
    • When Korea decided "THAAD" deployment in 2016, China does retaliation measures to regulate the entertainment activities of the Korean stars in China.
  • This time the Chinese policy for Taiwan has both meanings. China gives money to the cooperative prefectures, and reduces Chinese tourists to Taiwan to retaliate.

Chinese tourist kills woman in Jeju chapel
(Korea・Korea Times) (September 19, 2016)

A Korean woman, 61, has died after allegedly being stabbed by a Chinese tourist without a visa on the southern resort island of Jeju.

The 50-year-old Chinese man allegedly stabbed the woman with a knife four times in a chapel in Jeju City at around 8:45 a.m. Saturday. She was praying at the time of the attack. Ambulance crews immediately brought her to a nearby hospital, where she underwent surgery. But she died the next day.

The suspect and the victim were strangers to each other. Police believe that misogyny was the motive behind the murder.

The suspect said that she reminded him of his ex-wife, who cheated on him. He said he visited the chapel to repent but lost control of himself when he saw the woman who resembled one of his ex-wives. It appears that he has a deep-seated resentment of women."

Last week, police arrested eight Chinese tourists on the island for allegedly assaulting a female restaurant owner and other customers.

Police arrested 347 foreigners until July this year, 59.2 percent up from the same period last year. Among them, 69.2 percent are Chinese.

My opinion
  1. There are many Chinese crimes in Japan too. Now many Chinese go all over the world, and the Chinese crimes are increasing.
  2. China is the country of "egocentrism". They don't think they must not lower their reputation in the foreign countries unlike Japanese.

The Korean airport staffs look down on Chinese tourists
(Korea・Yonhap news) (September 16, 2016)

Chinese tourists who visited Jeju Island (Korea) that was popular in Chinese sent an accusation that they were abused by the airport staff.

Korean woman Kim Miyon (fictitious name, 44 years old) who lived in China had a very unpleasant experience in Jeju Airport.

When she visited Jeju for work on September 4 and lined up in the line of the passport control with a large number of Chinese tourists at the airport, she could hardly believe her ears.

The airport staff pointed his finger at a Chinese and shouted in Korean, "Hey!" "Go away!"

Other staffs also took the insolent attitude in the same way looking down on the Chinese who lined up. She heard the abusive words "Noisy Chinese guys!" too.

Ms. Kim protested the woman staff who was very short with her in Korean, and then the staff was surprised and said "I'm sorry."

Ms. Kim protested the Korea Tourism Organization on the phone immediately after return home in China, but the organization and the Immigration Bureau denied this matter and said "That is unbelievable".

A guide in a Chinese travel agency said, "It's true that the Korean recognition for the Chinese is not so good because some Chinese don't use good manners for these past several years." And he pointed out, "It is undesirable to give rough response to the Chinese, because they are the guests visiting Korea."

But the Korean net users sent a lot of comments to criticize Chinese.

My opinion
  1. China is the country of "egocentrism". They tend to be disliked in the foreign countries, because they act in defiance of good manners.
  2. Koreans do not have the spirit of hospitality for foreigners, unlike Japanese.

Chinese tourists arrested over attack on Korean restaurant owner
(Korea・Korea times) (September9 13, 2016)

Police have arrested eight Chinese tourists on Jeju Island for allegedly bashing four Koreans, including a restaurant owner.

The tourists ― six men and two women ― were arrested Saturday for allegedly assaulting and injuring the Korean restaurant owner and three others, Jeju Seobu Police Station said on Monday.

The incident happened at the restaurant in the Yeondong district of Jeju.

Police said the tourists became angry when the restaurant owner, surnamed Ahn, 53, stopped them from drinking alcohol they had brought with them. They had placed their order but then decided to leave.

The tourists allegedly attacked the owner when she asked them to pay for the food. Police said they kicked her in the stomach and attempted to attack her with a bottle of alcohol.

The tourists were also accused of beating three others in the restaurant who tried to stop them, including Ahn's son.

Ahn is being treated in hospital after signs of bleeding into her brain. Another victim is suffering facial fractures.

Police said they arrested all eight at the scene. They are planning to ask a local court to issue formal warrants to arrest five of the suspects who arrived on the island two days before the incident, according to Yonhap news agency.

The other three were banned from traveling over fears they might flee, police said.

The number of crimes committed by foreigners is rapidly increasing on the island, a police official said.

We will firmly exercise governmental authority to make sure foreign tourists don't get away with committing crimes.

My opinion
  1. China is the country of "egocentrism". Even if they bring alcohol with them, it does not matter for Chinese basically. They tend to be disliked in the foreign countries, because they act in defiance of good manners.
  2. They never apologize any time.

China mom lets kid pee on the floor at Russian palace
(Hong Kong・ejinsight) (8 September, 2016)

China has been urging its citizens to be on their best behavior while traveling overseas, but the entreaties seem to be falling on deaf ears.

Mainland tourists continue to make news for all the wrong reasons, tarnishing the nation’s image further in the eyes of the world.

In the latest incident, Russian media are reporting that a Chinese woman let her young child take a leak in the middle of The Catherine Palace, the summer residence of the former Russian tsars.

According to the reports, it happened on Aug. 2 when a mainland Chinese tour group visited the palace, which is located about 30 kilometers south of St. Petersburg.

When a boy said he wanted to pee, his mother, instead of taking him to a toilet, just let the kid relieve himself onto the floor inside the palace.

The palace staff was shocked, with an employee exclaiming that this must have been a first in the building’s more-than-250-year history, according to Sing Tao Daily.

Radio Free Asia noted that Russians are facing a dilemma with regard to Chinese tourists.

While the people welcome the economic benefits brought by an increasing number of Chinese tourists, they are however put off by the “unruly and uncivilized” behavior of some of the visitors.

My opinion
  1. Chinese people seem to urinate anywhere.
  2. According to The Daily Mail, a Chinese woman allowed her granddaughter to urinate on the floor under her seat on a plane.
  3. According to The Sun, the ugly underbelly of Shanghai DisneyLand has been exposed with rude visitors pushing their way in, abandoning rubbish in queues and even allowing their children to urinate in the gardens.

Some examples of Chinese illegal acts in Japan

Chinese occupy national land of Japan illegally
(Japan・TBS) (July 3, 2016)

The riverbed of Hanami river is the national land of Japan and Chiba prefecture manages it. There are 69 unlawful fields there. People over 60 years old cultivate them.

The neighborhood inhabitants said they saw a lot of Chinese in comparison with the past.

Chinese fields have the farm tractors and the manure and they are very large than Japanese fields and are well-kept above all. They say "this is our hobby and for our family's interests". But it is doubtful because they have too many harvests.

Chinese "binge clamming" is terrible! They keep gathering the oyster in a prohibiting area
(Japan・TV Asahi)(September 9, 2016)(Japan・FUJI TELEVISION) (July 4, 2016)

You can see Chinese carrying the big pile of supermarket baskets full of the shellfish they took in the riverbed of Edogawa, Ichikawa-shi, Chiba.

It is most recent that many Chinese come for clamming.

It is not a problem to take the shellfish at this place, but they cause many troubles.

A large quantity of shells of "oyster" are thrown away in the sandy beach. This is the result that Chinese made "binge clamming" in the riverbed.

There is a place enjoying barbecue and having a swim in the river near here. A child who fell to the ground there cut its hand with oyster shell and the parents called an ambulance.

Furthermore troubles appear one after another in the public toilet in the neighborhood. The drainage pipe is clogged up, because Chinese ignore the attention of local people and they wash their muddy feet.

After all local people have to clean the shell and the sand.

Chinese violate manners in the tideland called "Sanbanse" in Funabashi-shi, Chiba too. The blue line of the image indicates the off-limit. But two Chinese invade the area. This act is "poaching".

The press staff directly asked Chinese invading the entrance prohibition area! They did a surprised answer.

Staff : "where did you get these?"

Chinese woman : "I got them inside of the poles."

When the press staff warn them again and again, they promised they never poached them, and they put shellfishes and left.

My opinion
  1. It seems Chinese sell vegetables to the Chinese restaurants and make business.
  2. If there is a chance, the Chinese seize it. It is just like the South China Sea.
  3. Japan can remove the Chinese doing the illegal acts by the Japanese law, but the international law cannot remove illegal Chinese rule of the South China Sea.

Air China magazine warns London visitors to avoid ethnic minority areas
(US・CNBC) (September 7, 2016)

Even for China, where companies have struggled with race issues in their marketing previously, the latest inflight magazine from the country's flagship airline will likely come as a shocker.

Air China's Wings of China carries a long feature on visiting London, with almost a third of the magazine dedicated to tourist attractions in Britain's capital and other famous towns such as Oxford. The main article, titled "London the city of 'hat tricks'," covers Brits' apparent fondness for all kinds of hats.

Then, after a section on transport options and lifestyle and cultural activities in London, Wings of China offers some "Tips from Air China."

London is generally a safe place to travel, however precautions are needed when entering areas mainly populated by Indians,Pakistanis and black people, China's flagship carrier advises. "We advise tourists not to go out alone at night, and females always to be accompanied by another person when traveling."

The advice is at odds with the London promoted by its Mayor Sadiq Khan, a Brit with Pakistani parents, who in July launched a #LondonisOpen campaign and frequently blogs about his favorite places to eat and drink in his South London Indian-Pakistani neighborhood of Tooting.

Meanwhile, Britain is an increasingly popular destination for Chinese tourists. According to government agency VisitBritain, more than 270,000 Chinese visited Britain in 2015, up 46 percent on the previous year. This was after the number of Chinese tourists doubled in the five years to 2014. Chinese visitors spent 586 million pounds ($786 million) in total in Britain in 2015, up 18 percent on 2014.

And in January, Britain launched a new, two-year, multiple-entry visa in a bid to woo even more Chinese visitors to its shores, following changes made in 2015 that allowed tourists and business travelers to apply for both British and European visas in a single process.

Chinese companies have been criticized previously for their depictions of various races. In May, a Chinese laundry detergent-maker apologized for an advertisement that showed an Asian woman shoving a dirt-smeared black man into a washing machine, only for him to emerge as a clean Asian man.

Some Western media called the ad, which ran on Chinese social media platforms, "the most racist commercial ever."

Air China did not respond to CNBC's request for comment on its London safety tips.

My opinion
  1. At first Chinese doesn't apologize any time. They never admit their mistakes obediently.
  2. The human rights are not permitted in China. Chinese does not have the freedom of expression, the freedom to choose and change the residence and the right to have children freely. The Chinese awareness of human rights is low. They only insist on what they want to do loudly. Therefore the Chinese does not notice that such an article has a problem.

Australia Seeks $90 Million From Ship Owner for Reef Damage
(U.S.・The New York Times) (September 6, 2016)

The Australian government told a court Tuesday that it was seeking at least 120 million Australian dollars ($90 million) from the owners of a Chinese coal ship that damaged part of the Great Barrier Reef.

Shenzhen Energy Transport was fighting the clean-up bill in the Australian Federal Court on Tuesday for Douglas Shoal, which was damaged when the Shen Neng 1 went off course and grounded in April 2010.

The Federal Court heard that the crash site was contaminated with hundreds of kilograms (pounds) of paint particles tainted with the highly-toxic, anti-fouling agent tributyltin.

Tributyltin slows the growth of aquatic organisms on ship hulls, and marine biologists say the particles need to be removed from the 40-hectare (100-acre) crash site to allow the area to recover.

The carrier's owner says the reef is self-healing and the company should not have to pay for a clean-up that was not needed.

It also disputes the testing methods that led to the detection of tributyltin in the area.

Shenzhen Energy Transport's maritime insurer, London P&I Club, said in a statement the Australian government's estimated costs of fixing the reef were unrealistic.

My opinion
  1. At first Chinese doesn't apologize any time. They never admit their mistakes obediently.

Illegal Chinese fishing boat sinks S. Korean Coast Guard vessel
(Korea・Yonhap News) (October 9, 2016)

A Chinese boat illegally fishing in South Korean waters sank a Coast Guard vessel in a collision before fleeing the scene, prompting the government to summon a senior Beijing envoy in protest.

There were no injuries or casualties from the incident. An officer was on board when the ship capsized and was later rescued by another Coast Guard boat in the area.

The foreign ministry in Seoul summoned Beijing's consul general later in the day to lodge formal complaints and to demand China's strong efforts to prevent recurrences.

My opinion
The Chinese fishing boats are good at hitting other countries' vessels.
  1. In 2010, a Chinese fishing ship intentionally hit the ship of the Japanese Coast Guard near Senkaku Islands. China insisted that Japanese ship had hit the Chinese ship.
  2. In 2014, a Chinese ship intentionally hit the Vietnamese vessel near Paracel Islands in South China Sea. Of course China insisted that Vietnamese ship had hit the Chinese ship.
  3. In 2016, on several occasions, a Chinese vessel which was fishing illegally in Argentine waters performed manoeuvres designed to force a collision with the Argentina's coast guard. Argentina's coast guard sunk the Chinese vessel.

'I WON'T get off!' Pregnant woman throws epic tantrum sitting between the doors of a subway train after 'no one offers her a seat'
(UK・Daily Mail) (September 2, 2016)

A metro line in Beijing was forced to come to a stop after a pregnant woman sat between the doors of a train after people refused to offer her their seat.

Line 10 of the Beijing subway was delayed on September 1 after the angry woman refused to move, reports the People's Daily Online.

Footage from the incident shows subway staff trying to calm her down as she continues her tirade against her fellow passengers, shouting 'I won't get off'.

The video, uploaded to Youtube by WeiboVideo, shows the woman sat in between the doors of the carriage causing the train to be at a standstill.

Four people can be seen trying to reason with her as she complains that no one offered her a seat.

Fellow passengers can be heard becoming frustrated by the woman as she refuses to move.

They tell her that it is commuting hours and they have just finished work and want to go home.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman continued to refuse to budge and so officers resorted to picking her up themselves and removing her from the train.

My opinion
  1. China is the country of "egocentrism". Even if another person is troubled by Chinese, it does not matter for Chinese basically.
  2. The passengers are "egocentric" too.

Chinese Tourists Stir Up the Waters
(US・THE WALL STREET JOURNAL) (Jun 17, 2016)

Chinese tourists were caught wading into forbidden waters, in two separate incidents, adding to other watery transgressions.

A Chinese man was fined $1,000 for breaking a rock crust and scooping up some thermal water in Yellowstone National Park, Wyo., “apparently for medicinal purposes,” the Associated Press reports. Park spokeswoman Charissa Reid told the AP on Wednesday that the strict fine was due to the “the irreplaceable nature of the thermal feature.”

In Japan last week, a Chinese tourist jumped into a sacred pond and filled up his water bottle, according to an Apple Daily report picked up online and by social media.

In Chinese and other Asian traditions, drinking water from special places is thought to confer good health.

These aren’t the only occasions recently when Chinese tourists have made an unwelcome splash.

In April, tourists from both mainland China and Hong Kong were scalded for fishing illegally in the pretty but protected waters of Thailand’s Phuket. In March, Chinese tourists caused consternation in their own country by feeding fish coins and bills in a park in Shandong province in the hope it would bring them luck. However, the money polluted the pond and the fish died.

Chinese tourists are welcomed around the world because of the spending money they bring with them. All these new feet sometimes trample on local customs, and Chinese tourists have been asked in the past to behave. As an ad campaign commissioned by China’s state-run broadcaster once said, “Be a good panda, be a good tourist.”

In the town of Sea Lake, Australia, Chinese tourism brings much-needed funds. Sea Lake is near the scenic attraction of Lake Tyrell, a salt-crusted depression that contains almost no water at all. The shallow water there reflects the sky and it’s common for tourists to take photos that show them “walking on the stars,” according to Australia’s ABC.

However, to take the perfect snap Chinese tourists are driving further onto the lake in search of water to reflect their image in — and getting stuck. “It’s very common; within a 100-km radius you won’t get a tow truck to come and tow you out of the lake anymore,” one local said.

My opinion
  1. You cannot change national traits.
